Remote Access/Proxy ServerMost of the Library's electronic resources are available to users from
anywhere off campus and from any location, including foreign countries.
Users who have an Internet Service Provider other than Princeton University
can connect to many of the restricted Library resources using OIT's VPN (Virtual Private Network Service)
or the Library's Proxy Service. VPN is the preferred
and recommended method for remotely accessing Library resources. This does not include "Library Web Computer" hyperlinks, as these Library Resources are available only from designated Library Web Computer workstations physically located within the Library premises. VPN (Virtual Private Network Service) from OITUsers who access campus resources via remote DSL, cable, or dial-up services may choose to connect to campus resources using OIT's VPN (Virtual Private Network service). For information on how to use and configure VPN, see:
Library Proxy ServiceThe current proxy server, which uses manual proxy configuration within web browsers and client computers, is now being shut off on April 20th. If you are unable to use VPN, which is the preferred method for remotely accessing Library resources, you may try to use a new, experimental proxy service here:
Please be advised that this service works for most but not all resources.
